Hooray for women in STEM! As a life long STEM woman, I am always excited to see projects and people that encourage girls and young women to join the field.

I would, however, love to see more diversity in how STEM is described. I see current STEM education projects as primarily geared toward Engineering and Computer Science (the “T” and “E” of STEM). Both great areas. But, sciences such as Neuroscience and Molecular Biology are still extremely male dominated, especially in the higher levels. Education about what exist in other parts of Science and Math would be a great addition to the growing STEM education programs out there.
