I absolutely believe in everyone’s right to choose to live however they want. So, if you feel happy and satisfied in your life and relationship doing the bulk of the “June Cleaver” stuff, then you are making the right choice.
I do want to make sure you stay mindful and continue to make these choices out of intention once you have kids. Because it’s hard to really fathom how much time and energy kids require, especially in the early years. Many of us want to care for our families and ALSO be seen as “badass business women” but the reality and the time demands from each side end up forcing our hands at times. (I would note that you didn’t have a dad that worked AND took care of you guys. Your mom worked and your dad stayed home.)
Maybe and hopefully it will be different for you. But just make sure that down the line, all the stuff you’re doing now doesn’t end up being the baseline that is taken for granted by all the other members of your household.
